Some software packages write their general preferences and serial number/license code to the installing users Home Directory instead of to the System Preferences folder.  This can be really annoying if all of your users are created with network home directories from a template.

Logic Express has proven quite problematic with users.  One particular problem has been identified with when users have their home directory based on a network volume.  It has been found that for some reason Logic may have problems using network home directories whilst working with editing files stored on the network in a project.  When applying an edit your given a sporious error code.
